We did this ourselves
We moved to Telemark with our family, struggled our way through it, and wrote down everything we worked out along the way. Then we spent a year helping other families. This is what came out of that.
Our story
We are Jeffrey and Eva. We moved to Telemark with our family, and we got wrong everything there is to get wrong. Not the big things. The order.
What we did not know is that moving to Norway is not a list, it is a chain. You cannot report your move until you are here. You cannot open a bank account until you have a number. You cannot get the number until you have appeared in person at an office that is not every office. And on the Dutch side a second chain is running at the same time, which has to be finished at exactly the right moment: deregister too early and you lose your health insurance, too late and it costs you money.
We put that story here, and not in three lines at the bottom of the page, because you should be able to see who wrote all of this down. You do not buy a playbook for your move from a brand. You buy it from people who walked past the same counters, in the same order, carrying the same suitcase of paper.
Why we no longer do this family by family
Once we were living in Norway, the questions found us. First from friends, then from friends of friends, then from people who had come across us somewhere. For a year we helped families one at a time. Phone calls, emails, going through a form together, and every so often reassuring somebody on a Tuesday evening that it really would work out.
It worked. People arrived, their paperwork held up, the children were in school on time. We stopped anyway, for three reasons.
It did not scale
Two people can guide only so many families at once, and that number is small. Everybody who came after that went on a list. Waiting while your moving date creeps closer is exactly what you do not want at that point.
It cost the most for the people who could least afford it
Personal guidance takes hours, and hours cost money. People with room in the budget hire that without thinking twice. People without it do the work themselves, and so carry the biggest risk of the mistakes that genuinely cost money: cancelling something too early, applying for something too late, signing something before you know what sits underneath it. That is the wrong way round.
Every family started at the same pile of questions
The first questions were the same every time. In what order do you do this. What has to be finished before you leave, and what can only happen once you are there. What happens to your health insurance, your mortgage, your business, your Dutch benefits. We typed the same answers over and over, and we barely got round to the one question that was actually about that family.
So we turned it around. Everything we found ourselves explaining again and again that year, we wrote down and put in order: per phase, per office, with the forms attached and with the date we last checked it against the official source. You pay once for your household and you can start the same evening, even if your move slips another year.
We will say plainly what we give up in exchange: we do not know your file. A guide cannot think along with you the way we did on the phone. What you get back is that you never wait until we have time, and that you are not paying for our hours.
Why you do not see us
There is no photograph of us on this site, and none of our children. That is not modesty, and it is not a photographer who has yet to turn up. It is a choice, and we would rather say it out loud than leave you wondering what is missing.
Our children did not choose to be the face of a company. They are too young to weigh what it means for a picture of them to sit somewhere it never leaves. So they are not here. Neither are we: if you tell your children it is a principle, the principle applies to you as well.
The same restraint is built into the product. We store what we need to build your timeline and nothing else: no BSN, no D-nummer, no fødselsnummer, no passport number, no scans of your documents. For your children we keep the month and year they were born, because the barnehage and school deadlines hang off that — not the date, because we do not need the date. There are no trackers on this site and no cookie banner, because there is nothing to accept.
It is the same thought, applied twice. What you do not keep cannot leak. What was never published does not have to be taken down later.
Where we live
We live in Telemark, in the south of Norway. Outside Skien and Porsgrunn it is mostly forest, water and small kommuner. You notice that in everything: in the drive to the nearest counter, in how few houses are for sale at any one time, and in how quickly the village knows who you are.
It is also why we do not pretend our experience holds everywhere. National rules are national: barnehage, for example, has a maximum price set by the government, wherever you live. What a kommune arranges on top of that differs per kommune. So every step in the platform says what is fixed nationally and what you have to ask your own kommune.

The company behind it
This site and the platform belong to Crypted AS, a Norwegian aksjeselskap. That is the party you enter into an agreement with when you buy something, and the name on your invoice.

The sale runs from Norway. The invoice comes from Crypted AS, the prices on this site include Norwegian VAT, and Norwegian law applies to the agreement.
